  • What did you like best about the tour?
    • K - Great in depth overview of who process from bean to bar. I loved being able to see (and hold) the actual stones used for grinding.
    • M - Free chocolate samples - that really helped me decide which products I would purchase! Yummy
Taza Chocolate Factory Tour

  • What was the least successful part of your visit?
    • K - We visited on a weekend and they are in production Monday-Friday so we missed out on seeing the action.
    • M - Tour is not inside the factory.
Taza Chocolate - Stone Roll Refiner, Roaster and Winnower, Temperer, Grinder

  • How well did this tour fit into your expectations?
    • K - This was my second visit. J and I went a few years ago and you were able to enter each of the production rooms to get up and close with the machinery. Now all areas are only available to view through window. However, they have beefed up the cacao sourcing and processing information as well as provided fact sheets and slide presentation including videos taken from the cacao growers.
    • M - Met expectations Plus limited # of tour participants made the tour very successful
Taza Chocolate Bean-to-Bar process

  • Is there anything you wanted to see that was not exhibited?
    • K - Of course I would like to see processing in action which if I had been smart enough I would have gone on a weekday. Other than that There is no viewing of the wrapping area which would be nice to see.
    • M - Factory in action (we visited on a Sunday)
  • Did the tour offer opportunities for your participation, interactions and questions?
    • K - Absolutely. Questions and participation was encouraged. They keep the size of the tour small for a more intimate experience.
    • M - Plenty of opportunities- questions answered fully, relaxed pace
  • Rate the tour guides’ knowledge, creativity, customization and communication skills.(1 - 10 with 1 being the worst and 10 being totally awesome)
    • K - I would give our tour guide, V, an 8. She was very sweet and enthusiastic. She encouraged participation, answered questions and engaged the tour group and asked us what we thought. There were a few questions that she didn't know the answers to but she was very upfront and did not try and make something up.
    • M - Guide was pleasant, well informed, welcoming. A bit soft spoken but made the tour a positive experience.
Taza Chocolate - Tasting and Cacao info

  • For what age group was the tour appropriate?
    • K - 10+. There was a ~25 minute presentation of history and facts about cacao followed by a ~20 minute tour that would be long for kids under 10. There were a pair of 11 year olds in our group who had no trouble following along, offering up answers and asking great questions. I am excited to bring Little M to Taza Cacao Scout Bingo or Chocolate Story Time when he gets a bit older (recommended ages 3-10).
    • M - Young adult & adult. Seemed age appropriate / as "advertised"
  • Approximately how long was the tour? 45 Minutes. How would you rate the length of your tour? Too Short, Just Right or Too Long
    • K - Just Right
    • M - Spot on!
  • Areas for improvement? How would you shape this tour to better meet your needs?
    • K - The tasting was wonderful in that we could try anything we wanted. However, I would have liked a more curated approach comparing some of their single origin bars to taste the terroir of their Direct Trade Certified beans.
    • M - Hot chocolate drink available for purchase @ tour’s end
